The End of the World

"Finisterre is the end of the world. The last place on earth that you can go to. If you get into a boat and sail out into the sunset you will eventually encounter massive sea monsters. And if you can somehow manage remain alive after running the gauntlet of sea monsters you will eventually get to the edge of the earth and fall off"

At least so as believed by many an ancient mariner. Finisterre. in Latin means "Lands End" and is roughly the westernmost land in Europe. If you go out in a boat you may not fall off but you wont see land again until you reach North America. Nowadays it is the end of the pilgrimage of St James that starts in France. Many travelers make the long trek on foot  (Although many end the trek 90km earlier in Santiago de Compostela).

There are many nice beaches and seaside resorts on the way as well as small sites like old churches and many local legends such as holy stones and wine stained stones. The site itself has a little lighthouse, a couple Markers, and atop a 238 meter cliff lookout to enjoy the last place in Europe to view a sunset overlooking the Atlantic.

And if you sail out any further you will have to fight off sea monsters before falling off. Either way you will never be seen again.
